I’m an interdisciplinary researcher in embodied educational technologies, interested in the sensorimotor mechanisms of learning, and how technology, such as XR or AI, can (or not) support these. Since learning isn’t effortless, I focus on designing digital learning experiences that incorporate the right kinds of difficulties, helping diverse learners grow while understanding their cognitive and emotional responses.

My work bridges computer science and the learning sciences, earning recognition from both communities, including the ETH Medal for my doctoral dissertation and the Jacobs Foundation Young Scholar grant. Right now, I’m building a 5-year international research program, bringing together top institutions in Singapore (NUS, NIE/NTU, SMU, A*STAR) and Switzerland (ETHZ, EPFL).

Beyond research, I love teaching and mentorship, sharing knowledge and supporting others in their own learning journeys. I’ve supervised about 20 students, I’ve taught in formal and informal settings, and actively contributed to outreach programs promoting gender diversity in STEM.

I also enjoy learning about the world, be it through books — currently interested in historical fiction about Asia, or traveling and taking long hikes in nature. Sports take an important place in my life, especially Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and weight lifting.

Generally, I am guided by (1) building tools with a positive impact on the world, (2) exploring what triggers my curiosity, and (3) collaborating with inspiring people who bring different perspectives.
